Water is a vital part of our being. Not only do we need clean fresh water to survive but we also rely on the multitude of things that water provides for us. The many different species of plants and animals that inhabit the water is a key part to our everyday living, whether you realize it or not. However, with the increase of global warming our oceans, lakes and streams are being hit hard with little attention paid to the damage being done.
Everyone is well aware of the damage being done to our environment. High carbon emissions are weakening the ozone layer and not allowing for greenhouse gases to escape the environment and thus cause for a steady rise in temperature. However, what is failing to be addressed is the effect of greenhouse gases and other human related problems effect on the many oceans, lakes and streams.
In his series of blogs I will discuss the many ways the oceans on earth are being destroyed and used in an unsustainable fashion. From over fishing, to run off pesticides and coral reef bleaching human beings are having a very negative impact on the water around us and slowly but surely it all catching up to us. The earth is made up of 75% water, it provides us with more necessities than any other resource on earth. As human beings we need to take care of the ocean and value all the things it provides to us. in this series of blogs I hope to inform you on some of the major issues currently effecting the ocean and what we can do to help save the ocean.
